The Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS) is a South Asian regional think tank, based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Established in 1992, it is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization which encourages research, dialogue, networking and deliberation on a broad range of conventional and non-conventional sources of conflict and conditions of peace.
The RCSS – UNFPA Report on ‘The Potential Role of Young Leaders and Volunteers in Preventing Violent Extremism in Sri Lanka’ was officially released by the UNFPA on the 17th of November, at the ‘Youth for Youth and Peace’ conference on “How Can Youth Prevent Violent Extremism”, organized by the UNFPA and UNV.
At the conference, RCSS Executive Director, Prof. Gamini Keerawella, presented the Key Findings and Recommendations of the report.
Mr. V. Sivagnanasothy, Secretary to the Ministry of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development, Vocational Training and Skills Development and Youth Affairs received the report at the conclusion of the conference.
