RCSS-Adenauer Discussion Forum (Afghanistan 2014: Opportunities and Challenges)
The RCSS – UNFPA Report on ‘The Potential Role of Young Leaders and Volunteers in Preventing Violent Extremism in Sri Lanka’ was officially released by the UNFPA on the 17th of November, at the ‘Youth for Youth and Peace’ conference on “How Can Youth Prevent Violent Extremism”, organized by the UNFPA and UNV.
The Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS) and other Sri Lankan partners of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) conducted a two-day residential workshop for youth, titled ‘Youth for Democracy: Young Leaders Dialogue’ on the 21st and 22nd of December, 2019.
On the 17th of December, 2019, RCSS hosted Professor Karori Singh, Emeritus Fellow of University of Rajasthan, India, as the guest speaker for the last RCSS In-house Discussion for 2019. The Discussion given by Prof. Singh was themed “Democracy under Strain in South Asia”.
Ambassador Esala Weerakoon, who will be the 14th Secretary General of SAARC with effect from 1st March 2020, visited RCSS on the 3rd of February, 2020.
RCSS Executive Director, Prof Gamini Keerawella was invited by Hon. Virendra Sharma, Member of the UK Parliament and of the International Development Select Committee to be a guest speaker at the inaugural British South Asian Youth Summit, held on the 22nd of August, 2020.
This edited volume published by the Regional Centre for Strategic Studies reflects on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on various countries in the South Asian region.
