This diploma course provides a comprehensive introduction to the concept of “Creative Diplomacy.” It will be conducted over an 8-week period and will provide theoretical and practical insights into the various facets of creative diplomacy. The course will expand participants’ understanding of the concept of diplomacy and expose them to new skills and alternative perspectives to engage with stakeholders. The post-disciplinary approach is a key feature of this course that will enable participants to think critically, creatively, and comprehensively when resolving conflicts.
The diploma course is designed for diplomats, practitioners, activists, community organizers, advocates, academic researchers in government, non-government and higher-learning and research institutions. Public servants, military personnel and executives of all levels working in the private sector will also find the contents of this course relevant.
The course will also be made available, online, to participants based outside of Sri Lanka.
Scholars, researchers, professionals in Public and Private sector and academics are eligible to apply for this programme. Women candidates are particularly encouraged to apply. All candidates must be proficient in English. A maximum of 20 students will be accepted into the programme.
Application forms are available at RCSS, 20/73, Fairfield Gardens, Colombo 08 and can also be downloaded from www.rcss.org. An application fee of SL Rs. 250 will be charged upon submission of each application. Applicants must submit the completed application form together with the relevant documents and a letter of intent of 300 – 500 words explaining why they are interested in following this course. A selection committee will scrutinize the applications and should your application be successful, you will be notified thereafter.

The course fees will be SL Rs. 20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand), payable to RCSS. Overseas students will be charged USD 150 as course fees, and payment can be made via bank transfer. The fees include tuition, course material and logistics support for the programme. Any other personal expenses will be borne by the participants. The fees must be paid by the commencement of the programme and are non-refundable.
